U.S. fees former Air Power officer for spying for Iran

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – America on Wednesday indicted a former U.S. Air Power officer Monica Witt for aiding Iran in what Washington characterised as a cyber-spying operation focusing on U.S. intelligence officers.

As a part of its motion, the US sanctioned two Iran-based companies – New Horizon Group and Internet Peygard Samavat Firm – and several other people related to the 2 teams.

The U.S. Treasury mentioned Internet Peygard focused present and former U.S. authorities and navy personnel with a malicious cyber marketing campaign, and it mentioned New Horizon had organized worldwide conferences supporting efforts by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Power to recruit and gather intelligence from overseas attendees.
