DENVER (AP) — Lecturers say they may strike Monday after failing to achieve an settlement on pay.

Each side met Saturday in an try to achieve a brand new contract after over a yr of negotiations.

The superintendent of Denver Public Colleges says she’s dissatisfied the lecturers union broke off negotiations Saturday evening.

“Regardless of the union’s refusal to proceed negotiating, we stay dedicated to working with the management of the DCTA to finish this strike,” Superintendent Susana Cordova stated in a press release.

In a number of statements posted Saturday evening on its Twitter account, the Denver lecturers union stated the Denver Public Colleges’ newest contract provide just isn’t ok.

Nonetheless, the district has canceled lessons for five,000 pre-schoolers as a result of it does not have the workers to care for them.

The lecturers’ union says 93 p.c of taking part members backed a strike in a vote final month.
