“Increase A Man” is Keys’ first new tune since her 2016 album, “Right here.” The piano-driven, searingly topical ballad finds the 15-time Grammy winner expressing gratitude for good males, and a plea to boost extra of them.
“Tonight was such a musical night time,” the singer-songwriter wrote on Instagram after Sunday’s awards present. “I made a decision to drop a brand new vibe & have some enjoyable with y’all!!!”
“You’re simply not like these different males out right here,” she sings on the monitor. “You simply wanna maintain me, and that’s OK. Can I be a lady for you, babe, in a time when it’s not allowed?”
“Is it OK to like a person proper now? If you happen to perceive, then present me your palms,” she continues.
The tune was a becoming finale to a spectacular night time for Keys, the primary lady in 14 years to host the Grammys. After sharing the stage with the likes of Girl Gaga, John Mayer and even Michelle Obama, she reminded viewers of her musical prowess with an epic efficiency of her personal.
Flanked by two pianos ― one black, one white ― Keys delved right into a cabaret-style medley of songs she wished she’d written, together with Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly,” Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable” and Lauren Hill’s “Doo-Wop (That Factor).”
