(Reuters) – 5 juveniles are charged with capturing and killing a musician in Nashville, Tennessee exterior his house after he refused handy over his automotive keys, authorities mentioned.
The three boys and two ladies, ranging in age from 12 to 16, have been in a stolen pickup truck after they encountered Kyle Yorlets, 24, exterior his house on Thursday and took his pockets, the Metropolitan Nashville Police mentioned.
Yorlets was a graduate of Nashville’s Belmont College and was a singer and songwriter for rock band Carverton.
“We’re heartbroken,” three of his bandmates mentioned in an announcement. “We’ll always remember Kyle, and although he’s gone too quickly his legacy is right here to remain.”
Officers arrested the 5 suspects late on Thursday at a Walmart and recovered the stolen pickup truck, a second stolen automotive and two pistols, Nashville police mentioned in an announcement on Friday.
Authorities named three of the suspects aged 14, 15, and 16, whereas the identities of the opposite two suspects – a 12-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy – have been withheld because of their age.
Native media reported Friday that prosecutors plan to cost the minors as adults. Prosecutors declined to remark to Reuters.
Attorneys for the minors couldn’t instantly be recognized.
